Setup: 16
players. 4x 12x12m areas with 4 players in each. 1
ball in each area. 20-25m between areas. 2 boxes opposite each other will work
together. When running the ball across they will pass into players ahead of
them and then join that area to resume the number of 4.
Time
– 15 minutes.
Rest
– This naturally occurs as only 1 out of the 4 is working (explosive running
with the ball) whilst the other 3, although maybe completing passes etc. will
not be exerting themselves. They will have the opportunity to rest also as I move
through and explain the progressions-variations. The possession element
maintains motivation, keeps all players involved and active.
Aim: Players pass and move inside of area. Coach key word is "break". When this is said, any player who is in possession explodes out of area and drives at high speed across to other box. See Progressions.
4 teams passing and running with the ball (15 mins)
