Organization:
6x6 yds area (approx) 3v1 with attacking players on outside of area and defender inside. 1 resting defender if numbers permit.
Instructions:
Players look to connect passes around the outside of the area and are encouraged to move/change positions in order to support the ball carrier.
Note: Player who loses possession becomes defender (max amount of time as defending player is equal to 15 consecutive passes)
Note: Resting defender plays a new ball in and defends after 1st pass.
Pass = 1 point, keep individual scores
Coaching Points:
- How can you see both players at once?
- First touch to move ball quickly from pressure
- Use of disguise passes
- When can you take that player on? Create combinations to get across the box?
Progressions/Regressions:
P) Player in possession can choose to beat opponent on the dribble and get to opposite side for 3 points (passes = 1 point).
P) Player in possession can choose to beat opponent with a passing combination (give and go) to get across (must get pass back inside the box to score)

Organization:
Approx. 8x12yds area with target on either end line. 2v1 in central area.
Instructions:
Team of 2 attackers play end to end keepaway.
If defender wins the ball, they attempt to play through gates behind target player to score a point.
Note: Target can block gates to prevent defender from scoring.
Note: Gk's can play with either hands or feet with exception to +1 inside of field (feet only).
Note: Defender can swap after being beaten 3x in a row.
P) Player receiving on the endline switches with player who passed to them (first touch, driving at a player for 1-2 pass)
Coaching Points:
- How can you quickly get the ball end to end?
- What do I need to think about when I make my pass to a teammate?
- Where is the pressure? How can I get through?
- Penetration first thought, then side to side
- On angles for passes (not on straight lines)

Ball Mastery (10 mins)
Organization:
Approx. 15x15yds area. 3 teams. 1 ball for each team.
Instructions:
Players move around area using other players as defenders and look to break lines of opponent with passes.
Coaching Points:
- Proper weight /surface of passes
- Communication early
- Pick up eyes / eye contact with player receiving your pass
Progression:
P) Players are instructed to receive and pass with any other color besides their own.
P) Players preform a combination pass (give and go / overlap) and then find a player of a different color
