INTENSITY: Moderate to high ACTIVITY TIME: 15-30 secs REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 20
Activity:
- 1 v 1 to 2 v 1
- Attacker dribbles at the defender, performs an attacking move and attempts to score in one of (2) goals.
-If defender wins the ball they dribble to the end line.
-Once they have attacked 1 v 1, 2nd attacker joins and players go 2 v 1 to goals.
Progression:
- Rotate positions
- Reposition goals to the side, so they are now facing each other like they would be in a game. Players now look to score in either goal rather than an end line.
- Play risky business. 2 teams. Coach calls out whether they will go 1 v 1, 2 v 1 or 2 v 2.
Scoring:
- (1) point scored for getting ball in goal or across end line
Coaching Points:
1. Aim - can you use your attacking moves to beat the defender?
2. Close control
3. Short opposite movements (fakes) to create a yard of space.
4. Use your body to protect the ball and beat the defender
5. Balance and strength, be able to hold the defender off the ball
6. Identify the space and accelerate into it.
7. Decision making of pass vs dribble in 2 v 1 situation.

INTENSITY: Moderate to high ACTIVITY TIME: 4 mins REST: 1 min INTERVALS: 3
Activity:
- 5 v 5
- Free play, no restrictions
- Encourage teams to score as many goals as possible in 3 minutes to increase tempo.
Scoring:
- 1 goal awarded for every goal.
- If a player scores, they select 1 player from the opposite team to go 1 v 1 to earn an additional 5 goal for their team.
Coaching Points:
1. Encourage creating 2 v 1s.
2. Can players beat their opponent 1 v 1 then look to make the pass to the next zone or score.
3. Balance and Strength tp beable to hold off your defender.
4. Be prepared to play under pressure
5. Less coaching, let them play.

Activity:
1. Footskills
- Players perform different footskills through the gates - inside and outside, toe taps, soccer boxes, drags etc.Move onto Attacking Moves.
2. Passing through the gates
Players work in pairs - passing through gate and then move to find a new gate. 1 point for every pass.
Coaching Points:
1. Close control
2. Use all surfaces of the foot
3. Keep your head up and use periheral vision
4. Passing & Receiving with inside of foot.
