Blob Pirates

Grid is 20 yards by 20 yards.

Each player will have their own ball except for one player and they will all be in the grid. The job of the player is to try to kick the ball out from the players in the grid.

If a ball does go out, that player will now interlock arms with the player without the ball and as a pair they will try to get other people to add to the "blob". Once the blob has 6 players, they can break into 2 groups of 3.

Coaching Points:

- Keeping your head up while you are dribbling

- Knowing your surroundings

- Seeing which players are leading the blob and seeing if all the players are on the same page.

Initial Game

Initial SSG is the width of the 18 yard box and the length is from the end line to halfway. Balls in both nets as well as on the outside of the field.

Before the game starts get the 2 teams in seperate groups. Get the players to decide how they want to play and what formation. Focus on what players are leading these talks and see if the rest of the group does.

No corners, starts from the keeper. No throwins, when the ball out, players can either dribble the ball in or pass the ball in. If a team concedes the keeper who was just scored on starts play. No offsides.

Start the SSG and let the players play for about 10 minutes. Then stop the game and let the teams have a little debrief separately before they get to play again.

Coaching Points:

- When you get the opportunity, can the player take a defensive player on

- Can the attacker have have a change of pace and direction

- Keep your head up to know your surroundings
