Description
Challenge players to dribble with their heads up. Take a touch, take a step. Have 3 x 1 minute bursts, trying to achieve 100 touches in that time. The feet move fast, the ball doesn't. High quality touches: make the players use their weak foot and surfaces of the feet that they aren't strong with. Sole roles are fine, toe taps... we are looking for 700 touches in the first 10 minutes of the session.
Progress to players dribbling until coach calls 'turn', make sure that they are able to perform a move to turn 45 degree (scissor), 90 degrees (Schweinsteiger), 180 degrees (Cryuff) and 360 degrees (Maradonna). Advanced players can perform 'Double Touch' / 'La Croqueta' (Iniesta).

Description
On a 25x25 field, put a neutral on each side of the box. 2 yellow teams and 2 green teams. One 2v2 plays vertical between the top and bottom neutral, the other 2v2 plays horizontal to the left and right neutrals.
Make sure to play at different heights. Keep your head up, you can switch which side of the field you are on (left or right) with your teammate.
The two 2v2's are completing independent of eachother.
Key Points
- Head up, be aware of where your teammate and opponents are.
- Be aware of the other 2v2 going on
- Play at different heights (provide passing angles)
- Width and Depth
- Pressure and Cover

Description
In the same 25x25 field, we pick up from yesterday's 2v2 flying changes. Hopefully the attacking principles are now in place, players understand (and can execute) 1st and 2nd priorities.
1st Priority - Dribble into Space at speed / Draw a defender
2nd Priority - Pass to a teammate
The same game rules apply:
- If a goal is scored or the ball goes out of play in your half, you switch.
- Each player in Line A enters the field with a ball.
Key Points
Defensive Principles:
1st Defender - Pressure
2nd Defender - Cover

Warm-Up - Rondo (5 mins)
Pass and Move Rondo (4 Players) or Basic Rondo (5 Players or more)
For the pass and move rondo, Players must make a good pass and then find an empty line in the hexagon. See the example on the left. If Possible, you want the players to move to the line closest to where they just passed. Don't have them run away and sacrifice the passing lane.
Coaching Points:
We want the players to be on their toes and fully engaged, focused on using proper technique and making good decisions. Eventually, we want the players to be able to think ahead in setting up the defense so they can make 2nd Line or 3rd Line passes that bypass or even spilt the defense. On the defensive side, we want to see the defenders work in tandem, using the concepts of pressure and cover to coordinate their efforts.
-- Can we keep the ball moving?
-- Can we keep the ball on the floor?
-- Can we break down the defense and get them to chase?
-- Can we split the defense? (2 defenders)
-- Receive on the back foot
For Younger Teams
If the players are young and/or struggling with having a defender in the rondo. We can challenge them in the following ways:
-- 2 touch maximum
-- Do not let the ball stop moving (emphasize importance of a good first touch out of feet)
-- Cannot pass to the person next to you
-- Cannot pass to the person who passed to you
