its 3v3 in the 40X40 area.
I want player to feel what its like working in bigger spaces. coach always starts the game. nuetral players on the outside act as both wide outlets and back support.
The entire consept is to ask the players to recognize the importance of the space behind them and also the importance of tracking not losing thier markers. It goes without saying that good 1v1 principles are needed.

Midfield Defending
This diagram is an example of awareness of the space in behind and defending that space through good decisions. If blue in possession plays a pass out wide to yellow, red 1 needs to be aware of the possible give and go, thus track that run. Red 2 must be aware of the possible pass into the space behind also.

this is an example of not always being able to get pressure on the ball. If red 3 goes to pressure the ball and player in possession has head up then red 3 will get passed around and the space behind will be exploited, its important to teach when you can and when you cannot get good pressure on the ball.
