Learning Outcomes:
1. Differentiate between changing direction once we have opponents committed to a particular direction and also stopping the ball (static) to reevaluate move.
2. Static vs. on the move.

Organization:
- 20x20 yard grid, or adjust according to size.
- 1 ball per player.
Instructions:
- Players pair up, and start at the middle, ball in front, both facing each other. One of the players will start by taking the first touch and then going towards an end zone. Once this player is going towards the chosen end zone, the partner/opponent has to go to the opposite end zone. For example, player takes the ball East, then partner has to take the ball West. Players, then meet in the middle and start again. First player to get to end zone gets a point.
SEE PROGRESSIONS
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Once ball is still, can we throw off balance the opponent?
- Can we recognize the open space behind the defender?
Regressions/Progressions:
(1) Player now can go to opposite end zone and get two points if he/she catches up.
(2) Eventually take 1 ball out per pair and play 1v1: a player on the ball scores by stopping the ball on an endzone, as soon as they score, they leave the ball and the opponent has possession now as he/she has to score on a different end zone.

Organization:
- 30x30 yard grid, or adjust to size. Start small, and expand if necessary.
- 4 teams of 4 players
Instructions:
- 4v4 in the grid, teams score by passing and receiving from a target. Cannot score on consecutive targets. Once team reaches 5 points, targets join in the grid and losing team becomes target.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Can we recognize when to change of direction to find a target vs. going straight to the target?
- If change of direction or turn, are we turning into space or protecting the ball? if we protect the ball, make sure body is between opponent and ball.
- Moves: sole, inside-in, etc.

Organization:
- 40x30 field, or bigger than previous activities.
- 2 mini goals on each side, wide from each other.
Instructions:
- 4v4, teams try to score on wide goals. First team to 3 goals wins and stays.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Can we lead opponents to think we are going to one goal but change direction to the other?
SAQ / TAG (15 mins)
- Players pair up. One starts South, opponent starts North, player tries to get through a gate forward without getting tagged. Then, switch and alternate roles.
- All players go at the same time in same area.
Coaching Points:
- Fake opponent to one direction, we stop and accelerate to the opposite.
- Can we use traffic created by other teams going simultaneously to our advantage?
- Head up, look surroundings.
