See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
- 40x30 yard field, or adjust depending on size.
- 3 teams of 4 players, 3 zones, as shown.
Instructions:
- Red and White try to split Blue in the center. Every time ball goes from red to white or viceversa it's a point for each team. If blue steals, they switch with team that lost possession.
- SEE PROGRESSION
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Option A/Option B
- Can I beat the defender and get in front to turn into space?
Regressions/Progressions:
(1) End teams can now get 3 points if they are able to receive in the middle zone (so, break their zone) and turn successfully into their own zone.
(2) Defending team can send a player into zones.
Technical Repetitions (30 mins)
Organization:
- 20x20 yard box, or adjust according to size. Smaller will be easier and better.
- Two separate lines accross from each other diagonally.
Instructions:
- Ball starts from point A with a pass to player B, who peels off into the grid (player C follows), and beats player C (defender), by turning into space. Once he/she beats player C, player B dribbles past end line, and passes to player waiting in line, who now starts same activity. Player C now receives from D, and beats A (now defender), and so on.
- SEE PROGRESSIONS
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Receiving with pressure behind: can I recognize space behind the defender? or do I pass back?
- If we pass back, can we protect the ball.
Regressions/Progressions:
(1) Unopposed, movement but no real pressure from defender.
(2) Who gets the first touch off the pass? If defender gets first touch he/she will get the point, this will incentivize the defender to come pressure. If player receiving, takes a first touch, then he beats defender and gets an extra point.
(2) Make it a 1v1, B vs C. If defender steals ball he/she dribbles past end line in front. Keep points.
(2) 2v1: A & B vs. C.
