See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation:
- Pitch split into 3 zones with 2 mini goals on each end
-6v6+3 rondo mini game
- Directional mini game with one team attacking two mini goals
- 2 floating players on the end zone only play with the team building out and the other floater is encouraged to stay within the middle zone if possible
- If ball goes out of play, ball always starts with a build up from the goalkeeper instead of a throw in
Coaching points:
- Encourage pressing team to defend in an organised structure if possible (be mindful of overload)
- If pressing team cannot score immediately, retain possession, recycle and rebuilt. If recycling back to GK - Look to get in an organised structure
- 2nd line and 3rd man runs on transition
- Transition play forward
- Quick combinations
- Intensity in the counter press
Point scoring:
- One point is awarded if a goal is scored within the defensive third
- Two points are awarded if a goal is scored from the middle third
- Three points are awarded if a goal is scored from the final third

Organisation:
7v8 mini game focusing on different types of pressure from the attacking team from opposition goal kicks.
I will be managing the yellows and coaching the blues
- Yellows set up with a goalkeeper, a back 4 and a midfield 3 (no front 3) and try to build up and score in the mini goals.
- Blues set up in a midfield 3 and a front 3 (no back 4) and try to score in the big goal.
- CF on edge of the D splitting the CH's
- 2 wingers split in between CH and FB looking for trigger to press
- Midfield 3 locking onto midfield 3 man for man
Conditions:
- Only condition is that when the ball goes out, play will always start with a yellow goal kick
- Yellows encouraged to build up from the 2 centre halves initially for this first block
Coaching points:
- Blue team look for triggers when and where to press
- Angle and speed of press
- Cut off passing lane
- Lock on to marker
- Get set early on
Time:
5 minute blocks
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation:
- CF on edge of D screening the DM
- 2 wingers lock onto the FB's
- Midfield 3 locking onto midfield 3
Coaching points:
- CF screens the DM but is also ready to pounce on the CH if they step in
- If the CH progresses between the edge of the 18 yard box and halfway line, then the CF presses CH aggressively
Time:
5 minute block

Organisation:
- Centre forward & AM will lock onto 2 centre halves
- 2 wingers lock onto the FB's, 2 MF lock onto 2 MF, leaving one spare.
Coaching points:
- Front 2 look to lock onto the CH's but be mindful and ready to press the DM.
- If yellows find the DM, one of the CF press from behind, while the other ready to split the 2 CH's
- Try to force yellows backwards and into a mistake so we can pounce
- If yellows break our press, we revert into a midfield 5 and 1 CF
Time:
5 min block

For the last block the yellows will now build up in a back 3 but can look to play straight to FB if they wish, to give us some different problems to solve.
This will then flow into free play for the remainder of the session
Coaching points:
- If line is broke, me must chase from behind and be prepared to counter attack quickly

Coaching points:
- Player about to press must be immediately ready to counter press aggressively
- Body positioning on approach
- Ball moves, player moves
- Distances: touch tight
- Quality on the pass
- Lift intensity
Time:
- 4x3 min blocks - Change rotation of pass after each block
