20x10 grid with a midline (use multiple grids if necessary) On one end place a gate that attacker must dribble through to score. On the farside endline place another gate that they must pass through to score. Divide players into two groups, each group is on a corner of the grid with the goal that the attacker must dribble through. Coach plays ball in for line that is attacking. Attacker can dribble through the first gate at any time but must cross midline to pass through second gate. After a few minutes switch team gets to attack.
Main Points:
- Hide ball from defender whenever you are turning. Turn with body between defender and ball
- Moves here will likely include inside/outside chop, pullback
- Dribble with foot furthest away from defender
- After turning while hiding ball must accelerate to get away from defender

20x30 grid. Divide players into two teams and play 2v2 to three gates. Attacking team has three different gates to dribble through, must dribble through gate to score. If defending team wins ball they get a point by dribbling across opposite endline. Initiate game by having defending team play ball into attacking team. Make sure teams switch sides so that both teams get a chance to attack. New game once the ball goes out of play.
Main Points:
- How to turn? with body between defender and ball
- Dribble with foot furthest away from defender
- Good vision, recognize which gate is open
- Must accelerate after turn to get away from defender

Facilitate the game and help with positions, positioning, and game format. Facilitate a basic scrimmage with a goalkeeper. Allow the kids to “PLAY” but give guidance when necessary. Use a “coaching in the game” approach to emphasize the topics from this week’s training.
Dribbling/Footskills (10 mins)
Footskills
All players in a large area, each player has a ball and is doing moves on coach's command. Review various moves but there should be a stronger focus on moves that allow players to turn while hiding the ball: inside chop, outside chop, pullback.
