Three progressions with the same set up for basic footwork and handling.
1) Yellow GK starts at the tip of the triangle. GK footwork forward through the triangle, around an outside cone, then through the triangle to get square with server into set position. Server strikes volley. Repeat to both sides for number of determined reps.
2) Yellow GK starts at the tip of the triangle. GK footwork through the triangle, around an outside cone then back up through, around the opposit side cone, then back up through to set position.as Repeat to both sides.
3) Yellow GK starts to the side of one of the forward cones. GK footwork through the triangle to the other side. Then GK works back down the triangle for a back set. Once set, server strikes volley. Repeat to both sides.
CPs: Sharp feet, small steps, quick into set position, shoulders over knees over toes, hands out

One GK worker in middle, with three servers 3-4 yards away in a semi-circle
Two servers have soccer balls.
GK faces server, receives ball, turns body (get square) and tosses to open server.
GK then finds the next ball and repeats to open server
Continue exercise for 45-60 seconds
Progression 1: Exchange one soccer ball for a tennis ball - catch tennis ball with one hand, soccer ball with two
Progression 2: Catch soccer ball with one hand, catch tennis ball with two
Servers need to make service challenging - toss to differing areas within the GK’s bubble
CPs: Concentrate on your action, decision-making, get body square to server and receiver

GK starts in back gate
GK moves forward in quick and clean manner to middle red cone
Server strikes volley to hands for save --> return ball to server
GK moves forward again to front gate
Server strikes second volley to hands for save
Repeat
CPs: Stay on balance, move quickly then slow into set, be prepared, avoid double-foot jumping into set - be calm and slide feet into set,
Variations: Strike ball from ground (gives more realistic vantage point), change angles (ie: start from another gate and come on an angle for left and right service, acting as if the goal is behind on an angle - perhaps even move a goal in behind to mimic game scenario)

Very simple to complex. Each GK in own box - about 5x5 and reasonable distance apart. Could use cones or poles - each is numbered 1-4 (could use letters, colors, directions).
Pro 1 - Serving GK call number - Working GK footwork around cone, back to middle for service
Pro 2 - Serving GK call direction - Working GK footwork to that side (imaginary line), back to middle
Pro 3 - Serving GK does not call anything - Working GK goes around cone of choice
Pro 4 - Serving GK calls odd or even - Working GK must make decision of which cone fits
-- CAN PROGRESS TO CHALLENGE GKS TO MAKE POSITIVE DECISIONS

Server with ball on the ground
Server calls YELLOW, BLUE, or RED
GK footwork to one of those colors, then recovery footwork to goal line
Server strikes for GK to handle
After securing shot, GK rolls ball back to Server
GK chooses a side to show for a pass, Server passes to GK
GK plays ball out to small goal for distribution work
Make sure to switch sides
Variations: Can add another save after the pass to small goal (recovery action after pass), use players instead of small goals and have them serve in a lofted ball to deal with a service, follow pass to provide support
CPs: quick footwork but on balance, try to get to think

Equipment: Hurdle at side (slightly inside post), Pole (closer to middle and near 6 yard line)
GK starts in middle of goal
GK slides and side hops over the hurdle
Gets in front of post - catches volley from side server
GK hops back over original hurdle
GK works out to pole and touches
GK works back to goal line and back sets
Top server strikes volley or from ground for GK to save (keep in bubble)
Repeat as desired
Work both sides
Progression: GK collapse dive at post (inside)
CPs: Activate various movements (jumps, shuffles, up, back), activate hands, allow for slowish start but ramp up pace throughout the exercise

Old School Activation (10 mins)
Simple activation work to prep GKs for various actions.
Notably, get in a warmup of movement prior to activation
1) GK side on, server calls Turn, GK turns square to server for volley - Reps as desired
2) GK double-tap footwork over line/hurdle/cone then set for volley - Reps as desired
3) Spread save position for volley - stretch out hips and hamstrings - Reps as desired
4) Butt-Knees-Feet - get used to hitting the ground - Reps as desired
CPs: Build in pace as we go along, touching on footwork/handling/spread shape/diving, technique is important
Coach Note: College GKs especially for this activation routine.
