Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Girls U7/U9's 30/01/2024 (Start Time: 2024-01-30 17:00:00)

Technical (10 mins)

Set Up

• Split the players into 2 groups
• First group will start on the outside with a ball
• The other group will work inside the area

Drill

• Players move to different servers on outside.
• Begin with any type of return and then move to next server.
• Swap after 45 seconds
• Second time round, players must only return a pass using their right foot
• Third time round, players must only return a pass sing their right foot

Coaching Points

• Encourage players to control the serve, before returning the pass

Small Sided Game (10 mins)

Set Up

• Pitch 35x30
• Goal at each end

• A little like Netball.
• Attackers can not move with the ball.  Once they receive a pass, they must play a pass from that position.
• Defenders can only intercept.  They are not allowed to tackle.
• A point is scored by scoring a goal.

• Find space
• Movement off the ball
• Defenders to give the player in possession, 5 yards space

• How quickly can you get the ball into goal
• Can you do it in as few touches as possible
• Place a timer on the team in possession.  Once the time is up, possession should be passed to the opposition.
