THE SESSION:
Split the players into three groups of four. Starts with pass in from Coach. Two teams play 4v4 in one half of the pitch, with the other four players around the sides of the pitch.
PROGESSIONS:
The team in possession can use these players to help keep possession. The team in possession makes five passes in a row and then the ball is played to the neutral player at the other end of the pitch and the game moves into that half, with possession remaining with the same team. If the defending team wins the ball, they must get it to the player in the other square and they keep possession.
KEY MESSAGES/POINTS:
Helps to teach pressing and counter attacking.
Good for possession play and getting players to try to quickly close down. It’s also good for working on cutting down angles, intercepting and forcing mistakes, plus for attacking skills like shielding, first touch, passing and movement.

PROGRESSIONS: Start with 2v1 and then progress to 2v2. The team that wins the ball plays the target in and attacks the opposite goal. Once the target is played in the opposing team adds a defender.
After playing 2v2 you can allow additional player to be played in.
KEY MESSAGES/POINTS: Strong pass, communication, link up play and vision.

Small Sided Game:
One team Starts with a Break Away unopposed except for the GK. Coaches tells the teams how many touches they get including the shot. 4 total touches is a good starting point.
Once the Red Breakway Player shoots Two White Players on the opposite team start attacking the Red or Opposite goal and the Red breakaway player defends creating a 2v1.
Once the 2 White players score or the ball goes out of bounds 3 Red Players attack the white goal & the 2 White players defend creating 3v2.
You keep adding players until you reach 4v4 and they play until one team scores or the ball goes out.
GK's are live players and play contines when they save the ball.
Passing and Movement (20 mins)
THE SESSION: 2 boxes of 4 (more numbers are fine) first minute have players pass and move. Than instruct players to pass and move around cone. Teach the importance of awareness in the session, players must check shoulder before receiving ball and before moving around cone, players must also face the play players can then move to any side of the box not just around a cone.
PROGRESSIONS: players now must only pass right after every pass and to somebody different. Progress this to Left only and then right and left passes.
KEY MESSAGES/POINTS: Awareness, communication, eye contact, strong pass
