Organisation

Area is approximately 15 x 15.

Rotate all players around the different positions.

How to Play

Game of possession, 4 v 2 in the middle.

The Reds can use the Blues to keep possession but the Blues are on 1-touch.

If the Greens get a touch of the ball, a pass to an outside player is missed, or an outside player takes more than 1-touch, 2 of the outside players replace the Greens and a new ball is fed in to the Red team.

Possible Coaching Points

Passing & receiving.

Awareness (whose turn to defend next? Where are the defenders coming from?)

Speed of Play.

Speed of movement (get out of/into the middle quickly).

Organisation

Pitch is approximately 45 yards long by 30 yards wide.

A GK at each end and three teams of 4 set out as shown.

How to Play

The coach feeds the Blue team to attack the Reds. Blues can only shoot inside the final third. If they hit the target or score, the coach feeds another ball to the same team to attack the opposite end.

If the Reds win the ball the Blues IMMEDIATELY become passive and the Reds attack the Yellow team.

Possible Coaching Points

Positive attitude to transition.

Defensive organisation.

Shot selection.

Inventive play in the final third.

Communication.
