Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Position Specific Match Day Warm Up

ORGANISATION

• Area – half of the pitch
• CB’s – Coach plays a long pass with one CB heading the ball and the other CB covering, players rotate rolls every time (verbal and non-verbal communication is key!)
• CDM, CM, CAM, WR, WL, CF – Up, Back and Through pass sequence performed as seen above with WR and WL shooting, they then rotate with CM and CAM. CF can turn and shoot when receiving pass on coaches’ signal. CF and CDM to rotate
• Players can work on passing, dribbling, turning, control and heading with your variations

KEY FACTORS

• Tempo of the activity, Slow to fast
• Range of movements

• Quality of pass – pace, weight and accuracy
• Quality finishing
• Communication between players
