SET UP:

  • Use one half of the field and let the players dribble around each other freely. Lots of touches on the ball using different surfaces each time.

Technical 1 - Skills Corridor (15 mins)

SET UP:

  • 16x8 Grid, Red cones going long ways and Blue going across each side.
  • Blue team dribbles up and down to the Blue side and Red team dribble across the Skills Corridor.

Can we avoid oncoming traffic and be aware of other players.


POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:

  • Challenge/Competition - Can the Players compete against each other or split into teams. Red team has to get across to the other side 6 times and Blue team have to dribble up and down 4. Player or Team that completes the challenge and puts their ball on their head first wins.
  • Red team could pass the ball across while Blues dribble up and down

Technical 2 (15 mins)

SET UP:

  • 20x10 Grids with 2 Yellow Gates at either side of the end
  • Objective of the Red player is to identify the free Gate/Space to run through. Blue player has to try to win the ball and dribble past the line on opposite side

Conditioned Game (15 mins)

SET UP:

  • Set Up 4v4 Fields (30x20) with 2 coned off areas (Yellow Cones) either side of the field 

KEY POINTS:

  • Players can move into the Dribble zone and play 1v1 against a defender, encourage players to dribble past the defender identifying space.
