1v1, passing and receiving
Purpose
To improve receiving, first touch and 1v1 moves with full pressure defending
Set up
Two teams form lines on opposite ends of a 15 x 15 area, Two goals are placed on opposote ends of the area. Cones designate a shooting line 2 yards from each goals.
Introduction
Defender begins play wit ha pass across the area t o the the attacker, attacker must use speed and 1v1 moves and dribble through the gate before finishing into a goal. after the shot, both players must rqce to the opposite side.
Progression
Coach can adjust the space of the area to suit the needs of the players
Players Tip
Use body movements to deceive the defender before receving the pass. First touch should be directed away from pressure. Use body to protect the ball from pressure. Speed is the key to get away from the defender. Use inside foot to finish on goal
Coaches Tip
Encourage a swift pace from defender's pass. Coach can prescribe moves and combinations for players to work on. Encourage healthy competition in races after 1v1 play

Use a 40x30 grid. Play 4v4.
Encourage players to use what they have learned during the session in the game play. Make sure we praise the players when they try to implement what we worked on during the session.
Things to look for in the game at the end:
- Are players able to apply basic principles in game play of pressure/cover
- Do the players recognize that their defensive role changes based on which teammate is closest to the ball when the attackers make a pass
- Are the players able to think about where they want to force the attackers (mainly away from goal and towards the sideline in this small sided activity).
July 10th ADP BU's 8
Warm up
Head, shoulders, knees and ball
Players have to copy coach when he shouts out parts of the body and point to them, speed up and try to catch the players out by calling wrong body parts.
Whenever the coach shouts BALL, they must put their foot on the ball, last one drops out if competition.
For more difficult - use left and right as well.
