Passing (20 mins)

Set Up

-) Mark an area of 40 x 30 mt with a goal made with cones or poles at each end of the field.

-) set cones at each end of the field on positions of the CB & FB (each position should be should be 15 mt apart)

-) in the half way make 3 gates (one in the middle and the other two one at each side) gates are 3 mts wide.

-) fullfilled the cones on the positions of CB and FB in either side with players.

-) players left have to stand on the same side where the drill started.

Explanation:

-) Ball start on one side on the FB position.

-) Attacking FB have to dribble through the gate and pass to opposite FB (Defensive FB)

-) Other players only pass and follow.

-) If passing to CB pass to feet

-) If passing to attacking FB pass to space infront for FB to run dribble trhough gate.

Passing progression (20 mins)

Progression:

Defensive FB play a wall pass with CB, when FB gets the ball back from the CB he/she will pass/switches to the Attacing FB on the other side.

-) Attacking FB will receive and dribble through the gate and pass to def FB on tyhe other half.

Progression:

-) Can you play one touch if possible.

Coaching points:

-) FB playing to CB, once the ball is passed to CB adopt a position where he/she can see the fb in the other side to play one touch pass if possible or to control and switch.

SSG (25 mins)

Set Up

Same set up than the passing activities but add a goal at each end

-) Mark an area of 40 x 30 mt with a goal made with cones or poles at each end of the field.

-) set cones at each end of the field on positions of the CB & FB (each position should be should be 15 mt apart)

-) in the half way make 3 gates (one in the middle and the other two one at each side) gates are 3 mts wide.

-) fullfilled the cones on the positions of CB and FB in either side with players. blue is one team and yellow is another team.

-) Each team will have 2 FB, 2 CB and 2 MF defending in the opposite half.

Explanation:

-) each team tries to pass the ball through the gates onto the other side.

-) Teams have to move the ball from side to side until an opportunity to pass or dribble through a gate rise up.

-) Each team will be presuarise by the 2 MF from the other team.

-) if the 2 MF defending win the ball, they turn and pass it on to their half to their team mates.

-) A point will be awarded to the team which passes through the gate on to the opposite team.

-) 2 MF they only work on the opposite half and onec the ball leaves that half they have to come back to the middle gate and wait.

-) 2 MF are not allowed to intercept a pass coming from the other team through the gates.

-) If possible pass to FB to space infront for FB to run dribble trhough gate.

-) Can you adopt an open body shape where you can see the ball coming and you are also able to take first touch into the space towards the direction you are playing the next pass.

-) Can you make sure players regardless what position they are in, are always in a position where player on the ball can pass to them.

-) Punch pass and reduce the time between players first touch and pass so we can explote the sapce on the other side.

Progression:

-) Add an attacking MF

-) attacking MF plays for both sides.

-) Attacking MF should stay central and try to receive in between the 2 defender, this will drag them to starty central.

Finishing (20 mins)

Set Up:

-) place a pole or cone in fornt of the goals but 20 mt away from it

-) Place 3 cones in a triangle shape ( 12 mts apart) 40 mts away from the goal or before the half way line.

-)Next to the cone of player "B" place a disk place 3 mts in diagonal towards the corner.

-) Extra players line up behind "A"

Explanation:

-) A pass to B who passes to C, C passess back to A who will play a through ball to B.

-) As soon B plays the ball starts making the run around the marker.

-) when A plays the through ball, B runs to get the pass and to run towards the cone/pole infront of the goal which is recreating a defender.

-) When B is getting clos to the con/pole, he perform a move to beat the defender and finishes.

Coaching points:

-) while passing in the triangle can we punch pass and work on the accuracy of passess.

-) Comunication

-) When A is playing the through ball, can he/she weight the pass so B can get it.

-) As soon as B play the first pass can he/she start running towards the marker to create space for the through ball making sure he is looking at the ball at all times.

-) After B has received the through ball can he slow down, perform a dummy/feint to beat the defender and finish.

-) Switch the activity so they finish with the other leg.

Progression:

-) Player running towards the goal starts from the other side (C)

-) Can you make every pass in the triangle one touch.

-) players need to finish with right and with left foot.

-) After you run
