Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization

- The players setup in a straight line one behind the other

- The coach stands at the front facing the line of players

- Create a line of cones 10 yards either side of the players

Activity

- The coach will call out differemt commands to the players including the below

Right Hand = Right Hand touches the floor

Left Hand = Left Hand touches the floor

Up = Players jump

Spin = Players spin 180

Left = Players sprint out to the line to their left and back

Right = Players sprint out to the line to their right and back

- On the sprint the last player completes a forfeit

Progression

- Reverse all the calls, anoyone who gets a call incorrect is out of the game

- The last player left is the winner

Session 1 (15 mins)

Organization

- Players setup in 2 teams, one of 3 and one of 4

- Create 2/3 fields depending on the amount of players

- 3 minute games

- Field size is 15 x 26

- 3 yard end zone at each end

Activity

- The attacking 3 start at one end of the field on the end zone line and the defending 3 start on the opposite endzone line

- The spare player starts halfway up on the side of the field and passes to the attacking team. Once they have played the pass they will then move in to the opposite end zone.

- The attacking team attempts to pass the ball in to the end zone to the striker

- The defender press to prevent the pass in to the end zone.

- If they win the ball they dribble in to the opposite end zone.

Progression - Make the session competitive by giving each team the opportunity to defend 5 times, the team that wins the ball and gets in to teh end zone the most is the winning team.

- Correct body shape to force the play

- Balance and cover of supporting defenders

Session 2 (15 mins)

Organization

- Players setup in teams of 3

- Field size is 15 x 26

- Place a ball on a cone at both ends of the field

- 3 yard end zone at each end

- 1 Team Attacking and 1 team defending

- The attacking team has a player in the centre and 1 player at the side of the field in line with one of the end zone lines each with 2 balls

- The defending team starts with 1 player in the centre and the other 2 waiting at one end

- The attacking player inline with the line the defenders on plays the ball out to the attacker in the centre who attempts to get the pass off to hit the ball at the end where the defenders started.

- Once they have got the pass off they will then quickly turn to get the ball from the player at the opposite end before then attacking the same end where the defenders started.

Activity

- This will be completed twice per round

- Add a 2nd defender to add more pressure to the central attacker

- Close quickly

- Force player wide when 1v1

- Angles and distances when 2v2

- Prevent the turn on 2nd pass

Session 3 (15 mins)

Organization

- 5v5 + 2 Game

- 26 x 40 field

- Players set up 2 -3 on the field and then 2 players either side of each goal

Activity

- A normal 5 v 5 game with the restriction that to score a goal the ball must go in to the strikers next to the goal first

- End players have 2 touch max

- Goal must be scored 2 touch max when returned to a central player

Progression

- End players are 1 touch and the finish must be 1 touch also
