Set-up: 12-15 players in grid 18-20 yards x 25-30 yards.
Organization: Technical warm-up with basic rhythm concepts playing in a diamond.
Use a variety of combination patterns and ultimately free up the players to choose any pattern to combine to switch.
Time: Each rhythm approximately 2 minutes; dynamic movement between repetitions; approximately 5 repetitions
Points: Eye contact and non-verbal communication for timing and accuracy of passing and receiving; vision for timing of movement and support

Set-Up: 5v2 in a 12 yard x 12 yard square
Organization: Attacking team must have a player in the central pocket, playing off the back shoulder of defenders
Defenders change on the fly on a turn-over
Time: 2 minute intervals; 1 minute rest; 3-4 repetitions
Points: Attack - basic concepts of positioning and body shape; read positioning of defenders to find the "out"; decision-making between playing wide or centrally based on pressure and position
Defense - organize to prevent penetration first, and then to attempt to force to a space and win the ball

Set-Up: 8 players in an 18 yard x 22 yard grid
Organization: Both teams attack the opposite endline. The attacking team plays with 4 players to begin. When the defending team of 3 wins the ball, they have a choice to immediately attack 3v4 and dribble over line or to maintain possession and bring in the 4th player. If the team chooses to pass back to the 4th player, the player joins the game, and the team that lost possession must drop a player off the field to defend with 3.
Time: 2.5 minute intervals; 90 second rest; 3-4 repetitions
Points: Attack - team shape to maximize space to play; read positioning of the defenders to determine when to play wide or when to penetrate centrally; body shape to maximize choices and to threaten penetration
Defense - organize to prevent penetration, and then to attempt to lock the ball on a side to win it in a small space

Set-Up: 4v4 in a 36 yard x 36 yard field. Each team has 4 "bumpers" around their attacking half.
Organization: Teams play 4v4 internally; bumpers are limited to 1touch.
Time: 2 minute games; 4 rounds.
Points: Build on concepts from the session Attack - vision to find the "out" and combine; movement and communication off the ball to create options
Defense - prevent penetration centrally; individual defending
