Organization:
Use half a full pitch.
Divide players into two teams - blues (11 players) and purple (8 players). Blues starts with a GK. Before three blue target players take their position, illustrate the team set up as it would appear in a match with the 8, 7, 10 & 11 forming a midfield diamond or midfield triangles.
Building out of the back, blue trying to progress across midline. Purple put loads of press on the build up.
Progress to add 2 center backs in defense.
Instructions
1. Blue GK starts each time by playing ball to one of the 4 defenders or No.6 (deep lying screen) player or No.8 (advanced screen).
Progression:
2. GK looks to go in behind defenders to find outside mids or 10 higher up the field if under a high press.
3. Vary starting points, GK, goal kick, throw in, attacking team starts with the ball to win in defensive half to build.

Chelsea passing (10 mins)
Set Up: Players are split into 2 lines 15-20 yds apart
Description: 1) In this practice the passer must instruct the receiving player by using communication. The passer can call turn or set. The player receiving must then react to turn and dribble out or set the passer who plays out
2) Both central players make a movement to receive a pass. The player receiving must pass back to the original passer who now plays a pass into space for the non receiving player to dribble out
3)Now three players start in the central area. The starting player passes a ball into the three players who must quickly combine to pass the ball out to the opposite end. All three players must touch the ball before its played out.
Coaching Points:
1) Weight of passes
2) Hips open to the field
3) Timing of movements
