Give and go (10 mins)
Set Up: Set the distance according to the abilities of your players.
Instructions: Pass a moving ball, even the very first pass. A) The player on the ball initiates the sequence by moving the ball. The receiver checks to the outside of the cone, receives the pass, sets his or her teammate and quickly sprints around the second player in line to receive the return pass. He or she then starts the sequence all over again with a long pass to the next teammate. B) Again, initiate the sequence with a moving ball. Then play a give and go to the left, upon receiving the return pass, look to hit the next player as quickly as possible. Finish the run by going to the next player's left as an option. Meanwhile, the wall passer from the give and go sprints forward to become the wall again for a give and go from the target player. He or she plays the ball back to the target player who has made a run starting back towards where the sequence began. Once he or she gets the ball back, again, the ball is played as early as possible into the next player in line. Finish off the run by showing to the new target's right. And the sequence starts again.
Coaching Points: Play at game speed. Quality of each technique, specifically passing and the set. Body position for both receiving and playing the ball. Pace and direction of the pass. Communication with teammates.
