Instructions:
Players with ball scores 1 point for each gate they successfully dribble through. Defenders cannot steal soccer balls or tag players- only stand in the middle of a gate and that gate becomes closed. Defender can only remain at the same gate for 5 seconds. Attackers cannot revisit same gate consecutively.
Coaching Points:
1. Running out of space? Small touches.
2. Observe open space? Bigger touch and attack with speed.
3. Location of defender- near, far, or approaching?
4. Speed of defender- fast or slow?
Progressions:
1. Gates are closed when defender stands in gate. Must dribble through only open gates to score points. Dribble through a closed gate = lose all points.
2. Go through the back door of the gate to score.
3. Defenders try to steal ball. If defender steals ball they keep it and you become the defender. All points erased if you become defender.
