1v1 Tracking & Blocking

Practice Objectives:

To improve players ability to track an attacker and influence or block attackers final action (pass, cross, shot) by remaining tight / close / balanced.

 

Practice Explanation:

Exercise is divided by a line that attackers (red) and defender (blue) must remain on their own side of.

Coach plays the ball towards one of the onrushing players.

One attacker (red) dribbles with ball and tries to pass into the opposite small goal.

One defender (blue) to move in order to prevent a successful pass into a small goal.

 

Can attacker be creative in order to create space and a passing lane into a small goal?
