Technical Practice (20 mins)
Objective:
Repetition of Dribbling and Stopping the Ball
Repetition of Inside & Outside Turns
Setup:
In 40 x 30 area setup a starting line and three coloured lines 10 metres apart
Players with the ball are active for 30 seconds.
On coaches command players with the ball dribble and stop at a coloured line. (Red, blue, or green).
Once players arrive at the line, stop and wait for the next colour to be called.
Coach is encouraging soft touches when dribbling.
High activity for 30 seconds and then rest.
When all players are adept at dribbling and stopping correctly move to Progression 1.
Progression 1
Turns: Coach shouts a combination of colors to encourage dribbling, stopping and turning opportunities e.g. blue and red. In this example players would dribble to blue first before turning and then stopping at the red line.
