Positive first touch- Out of feet
and attack the space. Use laces mostly and use other surfaces of the foot to change direction
Speed to change direction- Big touches in to space- explode/drive in to space at speed and get your head up to look for where the defenders are and where the space is
Stride pattern- Try to maintain stride pattern when running with the ball. Smaller strides to change direction. Once you have changed direction attack the space.

Session Explanation
Coach calls number 1 or 2.
Players corresponding to the number called run with the ball to the opposite side.
Players race each other to stop ball on opposing line.
Progressions
Limit number of touches players have to get to the other side
Call both numbers at the same time so players have to make a decision on when to run with the ball.
Players given numbers 1 to 3 on each side. When I call out those numbers they RWB.
Include two defenders to put passive pressure on in the middle.

Session Explanation
1. Coach plays ball into feet of attacking Player A.
2. Player A must run with the ball over the half way line.
3. On player A's first touch, the defender on his side may chase him, attempting to tag him before the line.
4. After crossing the line player A is safe, and passes the ball to feet of his teammates B.
5. Player A and the chasing defender rejoin their team on opposite sides.
6. Player B repeats in opposite direction, with the defender chasing on his first touch.
7. Roles change when attacking player is tagged before the half way line.
Progressions
Defending player can move to chase attacker as soon as his team mate passes the ball.
Defending player can move to chase attacker as soon as his teammate crosses the half way line.
Include a neutral defender on the halfway line also for player to try to get past into the space behind.

Session Explanation
1. Teams play 4v4 with GKs
2. Team must look to pass to neutral player in channel, who has a max of 3 touches with no oppostion.
3. No defensive player can enter the channels. Player in the channel is free to run with the ball down the line.
4. If more than 3 touches is taken by neutral player in the channel, possession is given to the other team, with a pass infield.
5. If ball goes out, opposing GK restarts - no throw ins, corners or goal kicks.
Progressions
After a pass enters the safe channel, one defensive player may enter the channel. should they make an effective challenge, resulting in the ball going out of play, play will restart from their GK.
Remove neutral players- 1 player from each team in one of the channels creating a 3 v 3 in the middle.
Teams can play ball to their wide man and also swap positions with player once they've played balls. Looking for overlaps. One player dribbles in and the other goes on the overlap. Still focus on RWB.

Session Explanation
Play starts with group A who RWB up to the red gate, change direction and RWB and give it to group B. Group B repeat cycle. 50% speed at first as it's a warm up.Gradually increase intensity. While players are waiting for their turn, they must do dynamic stretches.
Progression
Increase intensity to 100% intensity
Have to pass the ball through the gate and then join the back of the queue.
Pass the ball through the gate and sprint back to original group.
