Organization:
- Practice starts with a 3v2 in favor of blue vs. red.
- The player who shoots stays in and defends vs. two reds who now receive a ball from the coach and go the opposite way to attack 2v1 and try and score.
- The two players who did not shoot, run around the poles at the end of the pitch, and recover back in to defend.
Coaching Points:
- Defenders delay and deny
- Defenders force attackers wide
- Recovering defenders get back in quickly

Organization:
Play a ‘normal rules’ game, with as equal teams as possible with the players available.
• The only condition is that on the loss of possession, all defending players must be in the two zones closest to where the ball is lost.
• For example, if a team loses the ball in zone 3, all defenders must react to press players or fill spaces within zones 2 & 3.
• Use a points system to motivate players to win, and reward certain skills or situations as appropriate.

Organization:
This is a 4v4/5v5 small-sided game to small goals in which normal rules apply. Additional conditions are used to promote the theme of defensive transition.
If an attacking player shoots but doesnt score, they then have to run to touch a pole on the outside before returning to the game. This creates a temporary overload for the opposition on attacking transition and forces the now-defending team into defending with a temporary underload.
The coach can also shout a name at any point. At this stage, the player must run around the pole and back into the game. This allows one team to play with a +1
If an attacking player scores, play continues and they remain in the game as normal.
