U8/U10 Passing and Receiving

Passing and reciveing 15 Minutes
Players are now in pair and have a ball and their own gate. To start off each pair can try different passing and different recieving techniques passing the ball through their own gate, let players try different passing and receivng techniques first.
Differentiation- Make the passing gate smaller or bigger, encourage the higher ability players to try different types of passing.
Bring players in and disucss coaching points.

Point out the importance of attitude and Standards.
Progression- Competition between teams to pass and recieve around as many gates as possible one point for a succesffull pass through the gate and control. Two three goes emphasisng coaching points after each one.

SSG 20-25 Minutes
Two games side by side five passess for a goal. Highlight the importance of finding space to help team meates and also body position when recieving. To start off Play non directional but this might change due to the ability of the group.
Progression- Depending on numbers and ability progress to a big match with everyone or two small matches again but with goals either end. If adding a goal still empahsie the coaching points of passing and focus on this rather than scoring goals.
At the end of the session bring everyone in and highlight players who have demonstrated the coachign points really well.
Differentiation- Increase the number of passes for a point or decrease the number of passess if teams are not able to make the five passess.

Warm Up- Ten minutes
Each player has their own football to dribble around the area. Each player will use different parts of their feet to dribble around the area, inside inside,big toe little toe and soles of their feet. Encourage the players to cover as much space of the area as possible and to make sure it is completed at a good tempo to prepare the players for the session.
