Practice Organization: Set up 4 teams as seen above with 2 maniquins in the middle of the field with 4 goals on the outside corners & 4 cones in the middle defining the area they have to pass ball into the goal from. on coaches command one player from A & D dribble towards the maniquin and perform a change of direction move
Session Details: on coaches command one player from A & D dribble towards the maniquin and perform a change of direction move, then with inside of the foot must pass ball into the goal without crossing the red zone (see lines), make it into a competition, do not allow players to pass into goal unless the move is performed correctly.
Coaching points:
inside of the foot chop/cut
- Ball should be close to both feet in between body
-Entire foot that chop is being performed with goes around opposite side of the ball
-Use the side of big toe to chop ball & turn hip at the same time to change direction
-Once player shows consistency and mastery, encourage arm to be raised prior to move to fake a shot prior to move.
Step over turn
- Location of the ball must be slightly out ahead of player in between body but not right at feet.
- step over must be low & fast, put hips into the move, don't just run over the ball.
- Ensure push out the ball out away from feet, outside of the foot (proper technique small pinky toe) push must be ahead of player in order to get ball on the stride not to far not to close
-with weak foot encourage player to slow down and exagerate/overdue movements to gain proper & accurate muscle memory.
Passing coaching points
- players must be behind the ball prior to passing not to the side
- Toes up, heel down, make sure they are opening up their foot completely
- Encourage players to make eye contact prior to passing the ball, they must look at their ball upon hitting it

15 minutes:
Practice Organization: Set up an area of 10x15 with 4 gates and 2 teams across field from each other
Details:
On coaches command player from team 1 plays ball across to player from team 2, 1v1 competition, player from team 2 scores by dribbling the ball through any of the 2 gates across, must have control when dribbling the ball through the gates. Team to get 2 points if any of the change of direction moves perfomed to score is the moves working on for that day, but encourage players to use any move 1 point for any other move and being successful. Defending player can counter when stealing the ball.
10second games max. After 6 to 7 minutes switch roles of teams
Coaching points:
-Encourage players to do change of direction moves fast
-Encourage players to set up the defender by having him/her going one way then switching to opposite gate.
- Being creative and deceitful
- Keep ball close to feet

Ball mastery (15 mins)

In squares player will perform various individual technical skills.
General coaching points.
-Encourage that players start all moves slow and progress to doing them faster as they master the skill.
-All skills should be done/perform with both feet.
-Players should make every effort to keep their ball inside their square throughout the skills.
Vpull same foot-
talk about opening up hips to go in opposite as ball is being pulled in.
pushing the ball forward and diagonal utilizing inside of the foot toes up heel down.
Slide - Foot starts slightly to the side of the ball in the direction the skill is being performed.
Encourage the ball to slide far out to the side and as foot is coming over the ball to bring it inside to use the side of big toe to bring back in.
Pull turn - Ensuring location of the ball in front of player prior to performing the pull.
As ball is being pulled body is turning same time.
