Technical (Unopposed) - St Johnstone Snake (15 mins)
Set Up:
Grid size dependant on age and level (typically do 10 wide and 15 long per box). Grid is 2 boxes long.
1 player on each end of the boxes
Once the players move through all of the grids and get to "the end", simply cycle back to the beginning to keep the snake flowing
Diagram Description:
A starts the movement by checking away and then to the ball at an angle
B passes to A and tells the player to turn
C moves towards the side that A went to then create space away from the receiver and gets a pass
A says man on set, gets the pass back and plays a ball to C into the next grid.
The same pattern continues up and down each grid in a snake format with players constantly moving forward 1 spot.
Progression 1
1 does the same movement
2 passes but says man on set this time
2 should suck their movement in towards player 1 to then move away into the open space
3 does the same movement as before to gain space away from player 1
2 passes to 3 who then sets back to 1 and then into the next grid
Progression 2
D starts the movement
E passes and says man on set as before
D after the set will then overlap E, receive the pass and then play the ball to F
F does the same movement as before and sets back and moves into the next grid.

Skill (Opposed) - 5v2 with Central Option (15 mins)
Set up:
- Grid 20 x 20 with 5 x 5 box in the middle (change size depending on skill and age)
- 4 players on the outside main box with 1 in the middle box. 2 defenders in the main box.
- Change to a triangle with a square in the middle and play 4 v 2 if you only have 12 players for 2 stations.
Diagram Description:
- The team of 5 complete passes around the grid (1 point per pass) and try to play the ball into the middle box player (2 points per pass) or better yet split the d into the middle box player (5 points per pass).
Coaching Points:
- speed and weight of the passes
- angles to receive
- receiving on the back foot to open more options
Progression:
- If you have alot of success, make it a 5 vs 3
Language:
- Penetrating pass
- Split
- Receive on the backfoot
- Bounce
- Set

Final Game - 5v5 or 6v6 (30 mins)
Set up a 5v5 or 6v6 game dependent on the amount of players available (may need a neutral or coach in net).
1. Play the first 15 minutes with interventions
- Stop the game at appropriate times to show players how you want them to play ie. play back to your keeper so we can keep possession and create space.
- Play a conditioned game; 2 touches only, certain number of passes to unlock the other team's goal, must score from the "second 6-yard box", one touch finish to score, keeper must touch the ball in the build up of play, etc.
2. Last 15 minutes. Let the boys play! Encourage players to work on the theme of the session. Do your best to not intervene.
*Play mini games, losing team has to; run, do burpees, sit-ups, push-ups, etc. Winning team does half the exercise. Change the teams up if things are one sided.

Technical (Unopposed) - Man City Box (15 mins)
Set-Up:
box 15 yards x 15 yards with a 5 x 5 box in the middle
Description:
Player A passes to B who sets for player C who then bounces it out to player D and then the sequence continues around the box.
Same occurs on the opposite side with player 1 passing to 2 who sets to 3 and then bounces it to player 4.
After you pass you take the spot of the player you pass to. Player B and player 2 will both wear a pinnie and will always stay in the middle box so have them be your CM types who need to work on getting onto the ball to bounce it.
Details:
1) less touches (1 if you can, 2 if you must)
2) which foot to use (back foot)
3) where to pass it to have game shape (In to the space for the player to step into it)
