Moves of Week skill
Dribbling and Stopping
In this exercise the players run with the ball using many touches, every 3-4 touches they must stop the ball with the sole of the foot. Knowing how to stop the ball and re-start is a technical objective that is important at this age and also stimulates coordination and balance
1, 2, 3 all the Way
In this execrise the players run with the ball, when coach says 1, 2, 3, all the way, players they must stop the ball the sole of the foot and take three hops backwards dragging the ball backwards with the sole of their foot. After the 3rd hop, players then continue to dribble again.
Emphasis
Focus on using both the inside and outside of both feet.
Players staying on their toes

Being in control of the soccer balls and not having players chase the soccer ball

Passing and Receiving
Purpose:
To improve two touch passing and group play
Set Up:
A group of three players have ball approx in a 4x4 meters area
Instructions:
Players connect with two touch inside push passes to a teammante at opposite end of the grid and move quickly after the pass. Players interplay passes continuously, developing rhythm.
Player's tip:
Develop habits of moving quickly after the pass. Communication is critical in developing rhythm with other teammates
Coach's tip:
Coaches should emphasize proper weight of each pass to continue movement in this technical exercise.
Progesssion:
Coaches can adjust the size of the area to suit the needs and abilities of the players. Coaches can make this exercise competitive amongst the groups.

Small Sided Games 2v2 3v3
Ensure coaches have plenty of soccer balls on hand to maintain the temp of the game
Rotate to ensure all players play in 2v2 and 3v3 game sitution
Set Up
Set up two fields 20m x 15 m with goals at each end.
Emphasis
High tempo
This is a free game which should stimulate expression, initiative and the creativity of the players.
Encourage the players to take each other on and run into space to score.
The aim is develop their technique and individual tatical play
Encourage players to use the dribbling techniques they have learnt.
Fall ODP Week 6 1st Session (10 mins)
Warm Up
Set up a 20m x 20m grid, Soccer balls are placed randomly within the grid and away from players.
Instructions
Players move around within the grid in different ways, jogging, skipping, walking etc
On the coaches call the players move to one of the free soccer balls and perform 5 repetitions of a ball manipulation skills chosen by the coach IE toe taps, inside bells
Emphasis
Use of different parts of the foot.
Awareness of free soccer balls.
