- counter endzone
- 3 'pressing' endzones
- attacking #1/2/3/4/5/6/8/10 - 7/9/11 in endzone as targets
- defending #6/7/8/9/10/11
Instructions: - attacking team play to counter endzone target 7/9/11
- defending team starts squence outside pressing endzone - pick moment to all press
- when ball is one of the 3 pressing endzone, min 2 defending players need to be in that endzone pressing
- if possession in won defenders go to big goal
- if possession is won in the pressing endzones and goal is scored = 3points
Coaching Points: - cues to press - bad touch, head down, receive ball facing own goal, 2/3 cuts inside
- 9 cutting off CBs, 7/11 tight on oppo 2/3s
- 6/8/10 man mark oppo 6/8/10
- 9 joins 7/11 in pressing out wide - cut off ball back to CBs
- 7/11 joins 9 in central pressing endzone to force ball inside where we're numbers even
Progression: - attacking 7/9/11 can drop in area to receive
Regression: - make field narrower - smaller pressing endzone for easier defending
- no target 7/9/11 - attacking team pass into counter endzone
- add central area for all 6s/8s/10s - contain the midfielders from pressing too high or wide
