Passing in a Square;
Set up
If there is a center circle large enough for the whole group use that, otherwise make a square with cones.
Add a cone outside the circle or square on 4 edges.
Play
All players have 1 touch to pass to a teammate
After they pass, they run to the outside cone and come back in
If the ball ever leaves the circle/square or if someone touches the ball twice, restart the timer
Time how long before a mistake and make up a time that we will do this until we stop. (U11 we say 5 mins but have fun with it, say the world record is 5:36, can we beat that!)

Combination Play Basics - The Overlap
Player A Plays Across to Player B.
Player B Moves First Touch Inside diagonal and forward towards the defender.
Player A overlaps Player B.
Player B plays out to opposite end.
Players A and B join the back of the queue.
Progression #1
Progression is to have the player with the ball do a trick faking the direction of the overlap and dribbling out the other side.
Progression #2
After player B does their trick away from the overlapping run, they then reverse the pass into their run to allow overlapping runner to continue the move.

Set up a 5v5 or 6v6 game dependent on the amount of players available (may need a neutral or coach in net).
Let the boys play! Encourage players to combine with their teammates (overlap, 1-2, etc.)

Ball Manipulation (Warm-Up) (15 mins)
Ball Manipulation;
- Each player with a ball
- Grid spaced depending on numbers of players. Ensure the space forces players to play close enough to one another to ensure decision making while moving in the space.
- Have players start with various dribbling techniques:
- Inside and outside
- Toe Taps
- Foundation
- Dragging the ball with the sole of the foot
Introduce numbers to go with a skill:
1. Fake Take
2. Fake Fake Take
3. Circle Take
4. Circle Circle Take
5. Fake Circle Take
6. Circle Fake Take
7. Step Fake Take
8. Step Circle Take
9. Okocha
10. Snake/Elastic
* Have players talk to their feet and call out the skill when the coach calls the number (E.g. Coach says, "1!" Player says, "Fake Take!" completes skill and continues to dribble).
