Description
Using half a full sized pitch, the players are divided into 4 different areas. In area 1, the players do 5 sit-ups, in area 2 they skip through the speed ladder, in area 3 they jump 5 hurdles and in area 4 the players hop using alternate feet through the speed rings.
Each player must perform their designated exercise before taking part in the passing combination.
The first player in area 1 starts the circuit by passing the ball to the area 2 player, who passes to the area 3 player. Player 1 makes a curved run around the cone into the box (black line) and Player 2 makes an overlapping run on the flank to receive the next pass back from Player 3. Player 3 (blue line) and Player 4 (orange line) both make curved runs into the box as well and Player 2 completes the circuit by crossing the ball into the box for one of the 3 players in there who try to score a goal.
Objective
We work on passing, combination play, player movement and timing of runs within a conditioning circuit.
Coaching Points
The coach has to coordinate the movement of the 4 players to make sure the timing of the passes and the movement is right.

WARM UP (10 mins)
Organisation
8 players take up their places in the box. Two players at every cone. Two players have a ball.
process
The players in possession start with their passes (see graphic). The players passing then run to take up the position of their team mates sidewards. There is always a straight pass and then a diagonal pass. The positions should be changed as quickly as possible.
Tip
4 cones, The player should watch the whole field so as to not miss the next pass. Further important Characteristics: - The standing foot should be 30-40cm to the side of the ball, in line with the ball. - When passing with the instep, the toes should point upwards, the ankle joint should be tensed and the upper body slightly leant over the ball. - Stand on the balls of your feet, the passing foot should be slightly raised to strike the ball in the middle. Bring your body over the ball and don't lean back. (Ball control is achieved using the same technique). - The foot should follow through after striking the ball. - Movement of the arms is important: When passing with the right instep the left arm should cross to the right hip; when passing with the left instep the right arm should cross to the left hip. - The player can lean back slightly when passing with the outstep. - When passing with the ball of the foot, the player approaches the ball diagonally with his body slightly side onwards to the ball.
