Same game but higher up the pitch to replicate high press.
Pressing and Building out Game
- Use main goal for team playing out
- Mark out area with flat markers
- Possibly make pitch narrower to increase challenge for teams in possession
Objectives
- Yellows play with pinks and score by playing the through the marked area
- Blue score by winning the ball and attacking the goal they are facing.
Rules
- Pinks and Yellows must stay in own half
- 2 Deepest blues must stay in other half. For example when pinks are in possession - blue 6 & 8 must be in the yellow half.
Progression - Take these rules off
Coaching Points
Teams in Possession
- Circulate the ball at speed to create gaps centrally
- 6/8 can you get in position to receive and play forward?
- Can one empty the space for other midfielder to fill?
Team out of Possesion
- Can we force possession teams wide and protect central areas?
- Can we get compact to prevent any switches of play?
