Organisation:
Create 2 20v20 squares, put cones down in the square for every player to stand next to. Every playerhas a ball
Instructions:
Start with every player standing in space and doing 20 seconds of individual skills:
1. Toe Taps
2. Foundations (pengiun)
3. Left foot / right foot sole role
Then start to dribble round the square, keep the ball close to your feet and try not to bump into the other players / balls / cones. When the coach asks you to try a drill try and do it as many times as possible before he asks you to dribble again:
1. Drag Back
2. Step over - push
3.Cruyff turn
Coaching Points:
- Keep the ball close and under control
- Can you dribble into space
- Technical aspect of the skills
- If the ball goes out of the square, players go into the 2nd square and try and do 20 seconds of kick ups

Organisation:
Split the players into two equal teams in the two 20v20 squares. One ball per team.
Instructions:
Players are numbered 1 to 5 (or up to 7) and must pass the ball in sequence - 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5 - then 5 passess back to 1 to start again. Allow as many touches as they needed, but as players improve and more become efficient , try and progress to two touches and then can they do one touch if they are technically able.
Coaching Points:
- Non-kicking foot close to the ball, pointing towards the target
- Head still and over the ball
- Kick with inside of foot, following through on line of target
- Keep ball low, striking through middle of the ball
- Picture the target, look to face the target player
- Accuracy, weight and timing of pass (preferably to "safe side" of receiver)
Progression:
- add another ball
- pass and move - players pass and move, then receive the ball on the half turn
- the receiving player must look to support the passing player
- players must communicate

Organisation:
Use flat markers to create the thirds, place all the player into positions. Put a set of balls next to each goal.
Players are fixed in their third.
When the final player receives the ball he must shoot and the keeper must try and save.
The keeper then gets another ball and starts again.
Coaching Points:
- body shape to receive the ball - open body, can you see the whole pitch
- receive ball on your forward foot
- Non-kicking foot close to the ball, pointing towards the target
- Head still and over the ball
- Kick with inside of foot, following through on line of target
- Keep ball low, striking through middle of the ball
- Picture the target, look to face the target player
- Accuracy, weight and timing of pass (preferably to "safe side" of receiver)
Progression:
- Make it competitive, who can deliver the ball from the back to the front the quickest
- If the ball goes out of play, the keeper starts again
- When the attacker receives the ball, the defenders can tackle
- Match scenario - turn it into a match
- defenders can go in D third and M third, Midfielders can go in M third, D third and A third, attackers can go in A third and M third (they are allowed to go into the third next to theirs)
Arrival activity - SSGs
Organisation:
Setup three SSG areas, with large cones as goals. As players arrive put them into 1v1 games and as more players arrive increase numbers and create 2v2s
Instructions:
Play 2v2 matches. To score players must stop the ball between the cones. Before they start to play explain that todays focus is on short passing - can they share the ball in their game?
Coaching Points:
- Keep the ball under close control
- Can you perform skills to get past the opposition player
- can you create passing lines - forward / side ways / backwards
