Organization:
2 30x 20yd grids
Instructions:
1. Player in white starts out in grid receiving from teammate. As the pass is played, opposite defender goes to press. 1v1 to goal, if defender wins he scores as well. After rep is over defender turns to receive from his own line. New Defender in white goes to press. (Defend then Attack).
Set of 4 mins then switch grids.
Coaching Points:
If my opponent is deep how can i beat his pressure? Speed up, fake, change direction. If my opponent is close how can i beat his pressure? First touch to a direction, speed up, finish. If i get too close to my opponent & make my move the ball can't roll to the correct direction. Whats important? Timing, Not too close/ not too far. Ball needs to be playable.
Progressions:
2v1. White plays ball into attacker then goes to support. 2v1 to goal. Player who scores is off. Defender checks out at angle to receive & start 2v1. Switch after 4 mins.

Organization:
35x20 yd grid
Instructions:
1. Defending team plays ball into deepest player. 4v3 game. Must dribble into box to score. Defenders cannot enter penalty box. If Defenders win ball they can score on 3 goals. Rotate each rep. Switch after 5 mins.
Coaching Points:
When is a good moment to go 1v1? Opponent isolated, Space behind my opponent to accelerate or finish. How can we create space for the 1v1? Use width. Move the ball fast until opponent is isolated. When isnt a good time to go 1v1? Too much pressure, Opponent compact. When might be a good time to combine around pressure? Pressure is tight, no space to dribble, space in behind
Progressions:
Can Receive in box. (Offsides). 1 defender can recover to defend in box. Switch after 5 mins.
