Set Up:
1.) Grid work - channels should be 25x10 yards
2.) Groups of three with a ball in a channel
Each grid has a different pattern
Activity #1
Passing pattern: short - short - long. Player passes the ball long, then checks into the middle to receive the ball back and then plays a short back to outside player. Players follow their pass. Then the sequence repeats.
Activity #2
Player checks into the middle of the grid to receive the ball. Once the ball is received, the player performs a specific turn (pull-push, Cruyff, outside foot cut) and passes the ball to the opposite outside player. After the player in the middle passes the ball back outside, he/she runs to the opposite side of the grid. The player on the farside of the grid becomes the player in the middle.
Activity #3
Player checks into the middle at an angle. We want the player who checks into the middle to have their hips facing the middle of the grid. The outside player passes the ball to the middle players back foot. Player in the middle receive with their back foot and then passes with their opposite foot to the second outside player. After the player in the middle passes the ball back outside, he/she runs to the opposite side of the grid. The player on the farside of the grid becomes the player in the middle.
