Lead-in Practice:
Organisation:
Blues score goals by: passing from end player to end player, passing through the wide gates or completing a diagonal pass across the area.
2 red defenders work together to prevent this.
Ball intercepted or goes dead: restart from an end player as soon as possible.
Rotate the 2 defenders every 2/3 mins
Coaching Points:
1. Two defenders start compact to prevent the straight through ball
2. Ball goes wide: nearest defender moves at speed to block off the pass down the line. Other red drops and narrows slightly to prevent the diagonal pass (maintain compactness).
3. Ball switched: Immediate reaction - roles as above.
