Description

What:

  • To improve high press by winning ball in final 1/3 and creating scoring chances, by forcing opposition to one side. 

Who:

  • Front 3 primary, Mid and defense secondary. We move as a unit. 

Where:

  • IN attacking third and forcing into right or left side. 

When:

  • When opposition is building out of the back from goal kicks and dead balls, when #9 is forcing to one side. 

Why:

  • Opposition is having success breaking our first line due to our less structured press.

Intro

Organization:

  • 10x10 yds
  • 2 counter goals. 
  • 4v2

Instructions:

  • 4v2 rondo 
  • if defense wins ball back they can score on counter goals 
  • 7 passes=1 point for offense- Counter goal for defense= 2 points

Technical Coaching Points:

  • Press with head down at top speed

Tactical Coaching Points:

  • Work with teammate to force them one way
  • Cues when to press 
  • Score as quickly as possible

Instructions:

  • Ball gets played in and play is live
  • Attacking team must get ball in endzone for a point. 
  • Defensive team tries to score on counter goal once ball is stolen.
