Tell players that we're going to play a game. It's like monkey in the middle but in soccer, we call it a rondo. Can everyone say Rondo? Yes, a rondo is just one big game of monkey in the middle!
Rondo- 3v1 or 4v1 or 5v1 or 5v2 or team vs 2
-Start with one player in the middle and adjust from there
Coaching points:
-take more than 1 touch
-players shouldn't aimlessly kick the ball away
-others as needed
-teach shapes - squares, triangles
Regression:
If the player in the middle keeps winning the ball, a trainer can be the person in the middle to slowly apply pressure while allowing them to complete pass.
