In Possession
Understand when and how to exploit a numerical advantage against the opposition.
Organisation / Area Size
Area size is 36m x 24m split in to 3 zones
Designated area behind both goals for footballs, with a number allocated for the server.
5 v 5 + keepers and one common player as server, 5 x blue, 5 Red, 1 yellow bibs
Session Details
The players are split in to 3 zones with zone 1 being a 2 v 1 advantage to the team in possession, 2nd zone is a 2 v 2 and the third zone being a 2 v 1 advantage to the defending team. Server starts the game by passing to one of the keepers who team try's to utilise the spare man and the player that dribbles or passes to the next zone can move forward creating a 3 v 2 in the middle. Same rule applies in the middle zone as the dribbler / passer can then move in to the final zone creating a 2 v 2 and try to score. If the opposition win the ball they can score on transition.
4 x 4 min Blocks with Terminal feedback in between.
For this session we will be working with the blue team and need them to have more of the ball, we can control this by putting conditions on the REDS in possession with either a timed limit or a number of touches on the ball before they can score.
If the BLUE team are finding in to easy in possession we can put conditions on time limit in each zone, number of passes before going forward make area size smaller.
