Dribbling Circle (10 mins)

In a circle, even number of players on the inside and the outside. Players on the inside start with the ball.

Players in the middle start with the ball. Start off with players just dribbling in the middle, when they want to they can pass the ball to a player on the outside. Then these players will change positions.

Progress to players doing a move while dribbling, and you can add a turn in while they are in the middle.

Number Game (20 mins)

Playing area is 10 yards wide from each goal and 30 yards long.

The players will be split into 2 teams, and numbered off, each team will have 1 of each number. The players will then line up beside the goal ready to play.

All the balls will start with the coach who will be playing balls from the middle of the side of the playing area.

Each round the coach will call out the number of a player, then throw the ball into the zone. Those 2 players will battle till the ball goes into the net or it exits play. Once this happens the players will exit the field and join their team in the line again.

Progression:

- The coach can turn the drill into 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4.

Coaching Points:

- When attacking a defender, players should have a change of pace and direction

- Engage the defender, don't do anything too soon
