Organization:

Area is about a 30X30 yard area depending on numbers

Players in display = 8V8

Orange cone area is Jail = 4X4yd square

Red cone area is Home Base = 8X8

Balls in Home base should be as much as number of players on each team

Instructions:

1. Each team starts with a team name

2. Teams are then given a half and a home base with a Jail in their half

3. Players from each team has to leave their half and try to get into opposition's home base to steel a ball

4. Once on enemy turf oppposition is allowed to tag player

5. If player gets tagged he/she must go to jail on enemy turf

6. Once a player gets inside enemy base he/she is safe until he leaves enemy base for home

7. Players are only allowed to take one soccer ball each time the enter enemy base

8. Players can decide to go rescue a teammate from jail or take a ball back home once they enter enemy turf. THEY CANNOT DO BOTH

9. If a player comes to rescue teammate from jail everyone that is in jail is allowed a free walk back home

10. GAME IS WON WHEN ALL THE BALLS ARE MOVED TO ONE HOME BASE OR ALL THE MEMBERS OF ONE TEAM ARE IN JAIL

Coaching Points:

1. Awareness - players should look for open spaces to make their runs without getting tagged

2. Decision Making - players should constantly be making decisions whether to attack opposition's base or defend their's, whether to save a teammate in jail or take a ball from oppostion's base

3. Acceleration -players should pick the right moments to make their sprints so they don't get caught by opponents

Progressions:

1. Players have to dribble ball back to home base after capture

Middle 3rd between green line represents neutral area

Players in display = 8V8

Orange cone area is Jail = 4X4yd square

Red cone area is Home Base = 8X8

Instructions:

1. Each team starts with a team name

2. Teams are then given a third with a home base and a Jail

3. Players from each team has to leave their third and try to get into opposition's home base to steel a ball

4. Once on enemy turf oppposition is allowed to tag player

5. If player gets tagged he/she must go to jail on enemy turf

6. Once a player gets inside enemy base he/she is safe until he leaves enemy base for home

10. If player successfully dribbles into neutral area without getting tagged the oppostion can still get their ball if the challenge for it and knocks the ball out of bounds before player can get the ball into his/her home turf

11. Player does not go to jail if he/she loses the ball inside the neutral zone. However, the ball goes back to opposition's base

12. Inorder to get a ball from opposition, a player has to successfully avoid getting tagged while on enemy turf, then protect ball from challenges while in neutral zone. Ball is safe once you cross over into you home turf with it in your position

13. GAME IS WON WHEN ALL THE BALLS ARE MOVED TO ONE HOME BASE OR ALL THE MEMBERS OF ONE TEAM ARE IN JAIL

Coaching Points:

Activity II

Organization:

1. Four teams of 3 players

2. Two grids (25x15)

Instructions:

1. Red team starts attacking first on both games

2. Red players must dribble towards defender and attempt to beat with off the dribble

3. Blue players must attempt to win bthe ball while protecting gates

4. If blue player wins the ball roless are switched instantly and Blue team will attempt to score

5. Players receive a point if they dribble with control through gates

6. After 1 minute blue becomes the attacking team and red defends

Coaching Points:

1. Dribble at players at speed

2. Timing of move (ex:Feint-Single scissors)

3. Close the space behind defender

3. Change of speed (accelaration) while still keeping control of the ball

Main Theme

Organization:

1.Half Field set up as shown

2.6 players (3 Attackers, 2 Defenders, 1 Goalkeeper) set up as shown

3.1 ball (Additional around the outside)

Instructions:

1.The attacker takes up a starting position between the two markers

2.The goalkeeper starts the activity by serving the ball to the attacker

3.On their first touch both defenders become active and attempt to win the ball

4.The attacker attempts to score in the goal

5.If the defender wins the ball they pass back to their own goalkeeper

6.The activity is restarted from the goalkeeper with a new attacker

7.Rotate players after set time intervals

Coaching Points:

1.Attack quickly, attempt to separate defenders

2.Commit 1st defender

3.Take option to shoot when in range

4.Play at speed

Progressions:

P – Move starting position further away from goal

R – Allow attacking players to start with the ball

Conditioned Game

Organization:

1.40 x 25 yard area set up as shown

2.12 players (2 Teams of 5 with 2 Resting) set up as shown

3.1 ball (Additional around the outside)

Instructions:

1.Teams play 2v2 in each half of the field as they attempt to score in their opponent’s goal

2.Defending players are permitted to follow their pass to create a 3v2 situation

3.Only the player that makes the forward pass is permitted to join the attacking players

4.If the ball is lost or a goal is scored the defending player must return to their own half of the field

5.If the ball leaves the area normal restart rules apply (thrown-ins, corners and goal kicks)

6.Rotate players after a set time interval

Coaching Points:

1.2nd attacker to offer support for combination either in front, to the side, or behind

2.Angle and distance of 2nd attacker

3.Decision making of each player

4.Combination selection

5.Timing of combination

6.Play at speed

Progressions:

P – Remove restrictions and play 4v4

R – Play 3v2 in each defensive half to improve teams options to play out from the back
