Phase: Sparta Competition 2 vs 2

Main Focus is Transistion from Defense to ofense. When a defensive player wins the ball in their defensive to middle third. Players NEED To SECURE the ball with the closest pass. Key Word is SECURE THE BALL

Set Up: 30x40 field set up 2 goals

2 gates in the outside middle facing a cone directly in the middle

1 gate on the right side of each goal

players divide equally on their half of the field. All soccer balls are inside the goals with

both GKs start with a ball

Action: Players at half field will race to middle cone The Coach calls the color of the winner of the race (in this case, Yellow!) The red racer can turn to defend right away. The Yellow racer will get a ball played from the GK and play it first time to his team mate on the gate and support the pass. At the same time the person on the opposite gate comes in to help defend. Players go 2 vs2 until a goal is scored or ball goes out. Players rotate gates after each action.

Coaching Points:

Here the coach gets to see, speed with out the ball, speed with the ball. GK distribution, defending, attacking and finishing. GK always starts with the ball. Team Play and wall passes

Variation: Soccer balls start at the middle. Players race with small touches on the ball. Player that wins gets to pass the ball to team mate on the gate and support while the player that looses the race passes the ball back to coach and defends with help from team mate coming in.

1 cone on top of the box.

Player runs around the cone, coach plays the ball, player tries to score on 1 touch.

Next player is already running. Shooter chases and puts the ball next to coach.

1st player to score 3 goals is the winner, Change GK every round.

Variations: Set up on the other side. Weak foot shot, Ball in the air.
