Intro - Technical Combinations (10 mins)

Organization: - Big goal + Gks

- 3 players (ex. CM, ST, RM/LM)

- two teams both with own Gks

Instructions: - Passing pattern, 1 touch set

- Teams compete against each other, 3 min rounds, then switch sides

Coaching Points: - timing of checks / runs

- speed of play

- correct technical passing / receiving

Progressions: - add defender after final ball to make 1v1 or 2v1

Regressions: - pass, follow and shoot, no 1-2s or movement off the ball

Main - Zones (15 mins)

Organization: - 60x30 area

- space divided into 2 areas - (30x30, 30x30)

Blue - ST, ST, LM, RM, CM

Yellow - GK, LB, CB, RB, CM

Instructions: - Players divided into areas

- 3v1 in middle third

- 4v2 in attacking third

- teams can only move areas after pass, but reset after possession is lost

- Counter goals in scoring endzone for defending team

- Attacking team plays to big goal

Coaching Points: - midfielders combining with STs to score

- movement off the ball to create passing lanes

- checking at an angle

- players checking into space

- timing of runs / checks

- how players attacking movement affecting others space

- communication of when to get in/out of space

When to combine?

Progressions: - remove central cone line

Regressions: - dribble penetration for attacking team
