Objective: Build repetitions and situations to shield the ball
Area: Quarter of indoor field at Campton arena
Activity: All players have a ball, but one or two. Object of the game is to make sure you have a ball by the end of the round.
Moves of the Day: Pull back, Pull Cruyff, Outside hook, Inside hook

Objective: Warm-up and Technical Repetitions
Area: 10x10
Activity: Divide team into groups of 4. In each 10x10 square, do ball mastery exercises and emphasize the amount of touches: toe taps, tick tocks, inside outside both feet, others you can think of. Get their heart rate up, then set up as above. All players go at same time. Slow at first, then build up.
Coaching Points: Coach the details- low center of gravity, be deceptive, drop shoulders when needed, check shoulders before turning, proper technique..coach it to be clean as possible.

Objective: Build 1v1 shielding skills under pressure
Area: Quarter of indoor field at Campton arena 6 5x5 boxes
Activity: Play 30-45 seconds. Idea is to try to keep the ball inside the box and not let it get stolen. If turned over, other player defends.
Moves of the Day: Pull back, Pull Cruyff, Outside hook, Inside hook
Encourage players to use these to get out of trouble and roll defenders
Coaching Points: using body, body shape, balance, head up, check shoulders,
body bt ball and opponent, ball on foot farthest from body, roll defender when appropriate

Objective: Developing awareness of when to shield and when not to in a SSG
Area: Quarter of indoor field at Campton arena 6 5x5 boxes
Activity: Play 3-4 minute rounds with subs entering every 5 times the ball leaves the field.
Moves of the Day: Pull back, Pull Cruyff, Outside hook, Inside hook
Encourage players to use these to get out of trouble and roll defenders
Coaching Points: using body, body shape, balance, head up, check shoulders,
body bt ball and opponent, ball on foot farthest from body, roll defender when appropriate, when to shield, how we play out of pressure
