Passing Activation (10 mins)

Rules/Explanation

  • Set up 4 outer poles 20m x 20 square.
  • Set up 2 poles in the middle ~ 2m in from edge.
  • P1 starts by dribbling with the ball, P2 comes off defender to create space in behind.
  • P2 times the run to receive ball forward and away from the defender
  • P2 dribbles the ball beyond defender and passes to P3 coming forward in front of defender (make sure first movement is behind the defender)
  • P3 looks to bounce pass to P4 coming forward in front of defender (make sure first movement is behind the defender)

Activity 1 (20 mins)

Rules/Explanation

  • Set the field up with 2 squares - Outer square 25m x 25m & inner square 10m x 10m
  • Small goals at either end of the field
  • 3v2 on the inner square
  • 4v2 on the outer square
  • Ball starts with the red (attacking) on the inner square and green (defending) in the middle.
  • Players need to complete 5 passes, then they can transition out to the outer square, and it becomes open play to score.
  • If the green team defend the ball, they need to transition out to the outer square to create a 6 v 5.
  • Players need to complete 5 passes then it becomes open play to score.

Activity 2

Organization: 14 players, 5 v 5 + 4.
25x25.

Each team plays into one set of mini-goals .

When defenders win ball they transfer ball quickly to yellow CB on opposite side, and all teams transition quickly to score or defend their goals .

A yellow 6 and 8 are positioned in each zone , they play with attacking team , CBs can be used when in possession, the 6 or 8 MUST have been involved in the play before a team can score and all players must be in one half to score.

If a team scores, the coach plays ball to winning CB and game resumes .
