Receiving - using the correct part of the foot to receive the ball, receiving the ball to continue the ball in the direction of play, soft feet on receiving, body shape
Crossing - looking up before crossing, aiming for attacker, eye contact with attacker, ball speed, whipped cross, drilled cross, floated cross
Finishing - always finish on a goal, hitting the target, use both feet, use head, placement of shots, power of shots, using appropriate part of the foot.
positional understanding, working on and off the ball, moving into space, checking off markers, working as individual units (defence, mid, att), working as a complete unit (whole squad) rotations before/after a pass/cross/shot, rest defence, saftey net, balance between def/att

Organisation: Same grid as warm up but with added channels
7v6 positional game
Coach to play ball into blue team
Blue objective - play out to score in any of the mini goals
Yellow objective - win ball and get it back to the coach
Coaching Points:
Passing quality - appropriate ball speed for the pass type - finding the correct foot of the receiver - using correct part of foot appropriate for the type of pass
Receiving quality - Receive ball on the correct foot - adjust body if needed - receive using correct body shape - be able to take first touch forwards or away from pressure.
Using the numbers - There should always be spare player to find - recognise the space - use the whole space - Drop centrally or out to create depth or width - Drop in between markers to distract/disrupt or create space elsewhere or check off the marker to create opportunities to break their line with a penetrating pass.
Scanning/Awareness - Important to constantly scan the field/shoulder check to make sure you are up to date on where your teammates and opposition are - have a plan before you receive the ball and a back up in case the situation changes.
CBs - once you have received the ball can you step out and try to attract any of the forward players to you and then look to play the player they leave to exploit the space
WBs - as the CB receives the ball can make a move either low or high (depending on what the winger does) to create a passing channel to receive a pass or use the movement to attract/distract the winger from pressing the CB - If CMs receive the ball remain in a wide position for either a switch of play (if not non ball side) or (if ball side) stay wide to receive the ball to play/drive forwards.
CMs - Can you make a move to attract you marker and then have a quick change of pace direction to receive the ball to either break their line or receive deep then look to play wide either a switch of play or same side
All players - Be ready to receive the ball at anytime - can our first option be to play or drive forwards if not then sideways or backwards - do not force a pass that isn't on - everyone provides a supporting role - simple movement can create opportunities to maintain possession
