Organization:
7v4, 4 goals placed in the corners of the area
Instructions:
-Team of 7 when in possession look to get 10 passes and they can look to score in any of the 4 goals. Team can be on 2-3 touch, to allow for high transition moments.
-Team of 4 Look to win possession and look to score in any of the 4 goals. Unlimited touches when in possession
-Rounds last for 90 seconds, to ensure high intensity environment for that period of time. New defenders switch each round.
Any time that ball goes out of play, play restarts from server
Coaching Points/Questions:
-Optimum time to win ball is right after losing the ball. Look to close down quickly. 1st defender- Look to cut off play and force it away from penetration. Look to force team in possession in the direction you look to play.
- 2nd defender look to now limit the space and dont allow penetration, 3rd defender looks to set the "net" and
-if attacking team able to play out of the "Net" look to re-frame and establish shape before looking to set the net again and press to win the ball.
Counter Topic
Team in possession- Look to shift and give angles/support to be able to "find the next one" to be able to play out of the oppositions press.
Regressions/Progressions:
-Add another defender

Organization:
Teams set inside of the grid in a 2-3 formation
1 attacker and 1 defender outside of grid
Instructions:
**All players on on 2 touch maximum**
Team can only score once the ball has been played into the high target. 1 attacker and 1 trailing defender allowed in the scoring zone once the ball has been played into the area.
See progressions below
Coaching Points:
-Mentality- Attacking: Can we establish possession and look to play positive once we establish possession.
Defending: Look to win the ball as soon as it is lost. This is the optimal time to win possession before opposition can establish possession
-Support- Visual cues to begin to make supporting runs underneath the #9, by ideally the 7, 10 &11
-Width-
-Patience when penetration is not an option
Progressions:
Allow 2 attackers and 2 trailing defenders into the area
-If need to show support option limit #9 to 1 touch
